We are pleased to invite you to an exclusive online seminar on Image Based Lighting: Manifest Your Motivated Lighting, presented by Tim S. Kang, Cinematographer and Co-Chair of the Lighting Committee in the ASC’s Motion Imaging Technology Council.

From simple to complex, lighting practitioners have chased different methods to motivate their lighting approaches for the most natural looks on camera. Virtual production connected these dots between VFX rendering workflows and lighting communication tools, and introduced Image Based Lighting (IBL) to lighting departments.

In this seminar, Tim will explore the fundamentals of Image Based Lighting, including its creative philosophy, essential tools, and practical considerations for implementation. The session will provide insight into how IBL can expand the creative possibilities of cinematic lighting and inspire new approaches to visual storytelling.
